Pocketalker Pro

This is a portable sound amplifier; it expands and extends sound for those who are hard of hearing. The Pocketalker amplifies sound clearly and easily for better understanding. This is a battery operated device. Each Pocketalker includes a plug-in sensitive microphone; and for the TV listener: a TV listening extension cord.

ComTek Personal FM Assistive Listening System

This is a portable two component assistive hearing device. This two-part device enables the transfer of sound from the transmitter to the receiver. The system is battery operated and can be taken anywhere. The user simply gives the wireless transmitter to any presenter, teacher, work associate or friend who they wish to hear.

UbiDuo

This is a portable communication device that enables people who are hard of hearing or deaf to communicate face-to-face or anywhere with people who do not know ASL.

Large Print Keyboard

This is an alternative keyboard input device that enables people with visual impairments to better see the keyboard through large keyboard print. Included are Braille Tabs for computer users who are blind.

SenseView

This is a portable magnifier device that enables users with visual impairments to see anything in a magnified view. The Portable SenseView CCTV is the world’s smallest portable CCTV.

CCTV (Closed Circuit Television)

A CCTV (closed-circuit television) uses a video camera to project a magnified image onto a TV screen. For individuals with visual impairments a CCTV can help with reading, writing, viewing photos, working crossword puzzles or sewing.

MAGic Professional with Speech

MAGic is screen magnification software that magnifies everything you see on a computer monitor. In addition MAGic with Speech also speaks aloud screen contents. This is great software for users who are visually impaired or hard of hearing.

 WinZoom USB

A portable USB screen magnifier and reader for computer users who are visually impaired. This is great for users who use multiple computers.

A screen reading software for computer users who are blind, this software reads everything displayed on a computer monitor.

Zam Communicator

The ZAM communicator is a portable communication device. There is no speech generation. It features a double LCD display that shows typed text to both the user and other communicator, as well as a response/question pad on the back for quicker communication. (We have two of these devices due to the surplus amount Texas Technology Access Program has and have been given permission to give them out for FREE if requested by one of our clients/consumers.) Wizcom Readingpen

A portable learning tool for students and people with reading difficulties such as dyslexia. Provides reading autonomy, enhanced text comprehension and fluency. Users can scan text, hear it spoken aloud and obtain definitions and correct pronunciation within seconds. (Espanol/English)

Assistive software that enables users to write with on-screen assistance, included is word prediction, dictionary and speech.

SpeakQ

SpeakQ is plug-in software that enhances WordQ version 2 or higher with simple, speech-to-text functionality. At any time you have the choice of typing with the keyboard, using word prediction, or speaking straight into your text. Speech recognition and word prediction are integrated to enhance the effectiveness of each other.

Dragon Naturally Speaking

A HANDS-FREE software that enables users to only use their voice to navigate through the computer software and applications. Dragon offers the ability to open communication barriers for those who aren’t able to independently navigate on the computer with their hands or other parts of their body.

Co:Writer

Co:Writer works in conjunction with any application you write in such as MS Word, Online, Blogs, Email, etc. As you type, Co:Writer interprets spelling and grammar mistakes and offers word suggestions in real time.

Write Out Loud

Write Out Loud is a basic text to speech software that can work in conjunction with Co-Writer. This software provides extra support to individuals who gain better understanding of written text through hearing it spoken aloud.

Kurzweil 3000 for Mac

Kurzweil 3000 is an educational assistive technology tool designed to support each individual student throughout a school system to attain academic success. For struggling readers, English Language Learners, as well as students with physical challenges, Kurzweil 3000 provides critical features for active and independent learning, participation in the integrated classroom, and for keeping up with peers.

Full suite of Applied Human Factors including Reach (REACH)

This product includes a set of special keyboards and dictionaries that are targeted for users who need a comprehensive speech augmentation system. By utilizing Smart Lists technology, Smart Speech can deliver an unprecedented number speech options quickly, reducing the number of clicks to create conversational sentences. REACH Smart Speech also can be used as a writing tool, because you can type your sentences into any word processor, spreadsheet, email, etc.

Endeavor

AbleLink’s Endeavor Desktop Environment removes barriers to computer use for a wide range of individuals with cognitive disabilities. It allows easy access through very simple navigation and application representation. The modified icons and controls allow for more intuitive access.

 WordLogic

Word Logic is a predictive text software that allows someone to input text more quickly and efficiently.

  • Grace – $24.99 – non-speaking picture exchange (double tap picture to clear)
  • Hearing Aid – $1.99 – Allows you to use your iPad as a hearing aid device. Allows for pitch adjustment and volume control.
  • iBook’s – Free – Built in digital library application that allows you to keep eBooks on your iPad. Also has a text to speech capability that will read the text aloud.
  • I Communicate –$49.99 – This application functions like story board where you can include pictures to convey concepts or make a list of instructions or activities.
  • Jungle Coins – $2.99 This application allows a person to understand and learn the different pieces of hard currency in the U.S. through fun interactive games.
  • Magnifier – $.99 – Allows a person to use their iPad as a magnifier that will enlarge an object up to 10x.
  • My Talk – $49.99 – This application allows you to set up story boards to convey ideas, wants, or needs.
  • Sign 4 Me – $12.99 – This application works as an ASL translator.
  • Proloquo2Go – $189.99 – Communication assistance application.
  • Nurse – $14.99 – This application allows for shorthand communication pertaining to medical or health related wants and needs.
  • Write & Say – $9.99 – Text to speech application.
  • iDress – $1.99 – Helps people learn how to dress for weather conditions.
  • Tap Speak – $149.99 – This application allows a person to tough a picture, and the name of that object or action will be spoken aloud. This assists individuals in learning the associations between words and their images.
  • iASL – $1.99 – Translates English to ASL
  • Read Me – $1.99 – Similar to iBooks. Books are read in fun voices for kids
  • Digit-Eyes – $29.99 – Reads bar codes labels so people who are blind and visually impaired can identify items.
  • Tozzle – $1.99 – Educational puzzle application that helps improve logical and reasoning skills.
  • Money Reader – $9.99 – Real time currency recognition
  • Dragon – Free – Hands-free speech to text application.
  • Sorenson Communications – Free – A person who is hearing impaired can communicate with someone who does not know sign language through flash cards that you design.
  • Z 4 Mobil – Free – Allows deaf or hard of hearing individuals to make phone calls either using video options point to point or through an interpreter.
  • MLD (Multi language dictionary) – $3.99 – Translation application.
  • Translator – Free – translation with voice support. 50 languages to choose from.
  • Tappy Tunes – $1.99 Plays preset songs by just tapping anywhere on the screen. A way to make music without any musical experience or skill.
